Over the last ten years or so, the enthusiasm of cities for light festivals has really taken off. There are now several hundred worldwide which organise such events.

The expansion of the LUCI network (Lighting Urban Community International) and its ever-increasing number of member cities staging a light festival is probably the best proof of the growing passion for temporary lighting.

The Lyon Light Festival, an unmissable event for designers, lighting specialists, plastic artists…alone attracts
millions of visitors, many of them from abroad.

As part of the LumiVille trade fair 2010 in Lyon, CDO, LUCI and the City of Lyon are joining forces to create
the Light Festivals Pavilion.

A true forum for festivals which, loyal to the spirit of the LUCI network, is creating a space where cities
can exchange views, learn and promote their know-how, adorned with their finest lights!

LumiVille trade fair

LumiVille is the largest European event devoted entirely to public and urban lighting. Every year it welcomes two hundred exhibitors and close to 12,000 visitors. LumiVille provides the ideal framework for organising the Light Festivals Pavilion and promoting your city's light event.

LUCI

Created in 2002 on the initiative of the City of Lyon, LUCI is an international network which brings together more than 65 cities on 4 continents and 35 associated members. Through its activities and international events, LUCI creates spaces where cities and lighting professionals can share experiences and competences.
